With over 30 years of experience in the water, Oscar's passion for swimming runs deep. However, it wasn't until two years ago that he stumbled upon The Strand and Palos Verdes, discovering a newfound love for cycling on his trusty 7-speed aluminum-frame bike with down-tube shifters.  Despite his long history in swimming and cycling, Oscar's journey into triathlons faced a challenge: running a continuous 5km. Yet, with determination and perseverance, he conquered this milestone in only his second season as a triathlete.

Oscar's background in engineering, coupled with his undiagnosed ADD, has led to an eclectic mix of skills and interests. From beer tasting to 3D printing, and even mastering Latino-grade salsa moves, he embodies out-of-the-box thinking. This unique blend of talents came in handy when he clinched victory in a micro-sprint triathlon, defying convention by wearing tennis shoes while swimming laps in the pool.

As he looks to the future, Oscar aims to bring his expertise to SBS, offering a blend of chill vibes, water inspiration, and performance tips to maximize your cycling watts.
